Hi I`m phil hems. My father was philip horace henry hems from birmingham england.

I forgot to mention that both Amy Coleman and Walter Sims were born in Birmingham, England.

My paternal grandmother was Amy Coleman who was born in Birmingham England in about 1886.  She had a sister, Vera, who was born in approximately 1887.  Amy married my grandfather, Walter L. Sims in approx. 1910 in the US.  My grandfather was born in about 1887.  She and my grandfather both immigrated to the US when they were 2 years old.  I know my grandfather lived in New Hampshire when he came to this country.  I am not sure where Amy first lived, although I think it might have been New Hampshire.  Amy and Walter had 3 sons: Robert (born 1910, the oldest and my father), Russell (middle son) and Everett (1920 and the youngest).  Hems was the maiden name of either  my maternal great-grandmother or my paternal great-grandmother.  I have very little genealogical information about the Sims family and even less for Hems.  I came across your website while I was searching for Sims information and decided to share my information with you.  I am 60 years old and I can truly say that I have never met anyone with the last name of Hems!

Does anyone think they might be related to me? Originally from Birmingham, England. My father was/is Philip Hems. Grandparents Horace(I think) and Nelly Hems, all from the Birmingham area.

My great grandmother was Charlotte Hems from Mile End, London who married in 1884 Thomas Phillippo from Norfolk. Any genealogy contacts out there?
