Welcome!
We are Adam, Jade and daughters Jasmine and Daisy and we live in Rosenberg, near Houston Texas USA. We are all British - Adam was born in Yorkshire in 1970, Jade in Essex in 1973, and both Jasmine and Daisy in Hertfordshire in 1995 and 1997, respectively. On this site you will find a little about us and what we have been up to lately. Meanwhile, this is our story...
Jade and Adam met in 1994 at Adam's office when Jade was in need of assistance printing her resume. Adam duly assisted in this task and then ruthlessly saved a copy on his computer thus aquiring her phone number! A shy phone call later, followed by a first date... and the rest is history!
Adam and Jade got married a year later in a private civil ceremony in Plymouth, Devon in the UK. They decided on a low key ceremony with no guests, and as two witnesses were required, went in search of a willing couple among the tourists on Plymouth Hoe.
Adam and Jade moved to their first home in Stevenage Hertfordshire, and were soon the parents of two beautiful girls. In the summer of 1998 Adam got a better job and in November the family moved to a larger home close to Jasmine and Daisy's preschool and the local park. Time flew by and soon Jasmine and Daisy started at the local primary school; Round Diamond JMI.
In 2000 Adam was hired as an Internet Consultant for a firm in Dallas Texas and the Hems family moved to the US, arriving in November 2000 and moving into a small apartment in Addison just before Christmas. A year later the company Adam worked for had to close it's Dallas office due to the economic downturn, but luckily he was offered a transfer to the much larger Houston office necessitating another move for the family.
In April 2004 the family decided to settle in the Houston area, and purchased their dream home in Rosenberg.
Adam promptly learned how to install blinds, trim and mow the lawn, hang ceiling fans... During the summer of 2004 Jade decorated every room, making their new home as colorful as a rainbow.
Jasmine and Daisy settled happily into their new neighborhood, making friends and enjoying school. Jade became an active volunteer in LCISD.
In the summer of 2005, the Hems family received Permanent Residency status and Adam immediately started job-hunting. In June 2005 he accepted a position as a Senior Consultant with Microsoft in their Consulting Services Division, based out of Houston.
Over the past four years Jade has created a beautiful bird garden at their home, which is proving to be very popular with the feathered resident of the neighborhood!
